Linnea is a furniture series for parks and urban environments, where form, function and human interaction are brought together. Designed by Måns H. Sjöstedt in collaboration with Yellon, the series takes its inspiration from nature’s way of shaping space – open, flexible and inviting.

Inspired by the way the twinflower spreads gently along the ground, Linnea creates natural sequences of seating in the public realm. Soft, rounded forms and an open construction give the furniture a light, welcoming appearance from every direction.

Designed for variation

Linnea is a lounge series that can easily be adapted to the specific conditions and needs of each site. The modules can be arranged into straight seating lines, corner configurations or back to back groupings, creating clear yet open layouts within the environment. The lounge chair’s S shaped profile integrates several functions in one form – armrest, side surface and a gently raised seating level.

Designer Måns H. Sjöstedt describes the ambition behind the series:

“I wanted to create a furniture series that doesn’t dictate how it should be used, but instead invites different kinds of meetings and behaviours. Linnea is designed to be combined, reconfigured and developed over time – without losing its identity.”

The series currently includes a lounge chair and a low table/pouf. Shared width and depth across the modules provide great freedom to create cohesive and lively furniture arrangements in different scales and contexts..

Clear character and robust construction

Linnea is defined by its surrounding frame in bent steel tubing. Soft corners and a coherent design language give the series a calm and confident identity. The construction is robust and developed for long term use in public environments. The open design close to the ground allows easy access for cleaning and helps minimise the accumulation of debris.

Carefully manufactured in Sweden

Linnea is manufactured in our own production facility in Sweden with a strong focus on quality and long term durability. The series is made from hot dip galvanised steel, providing excellent corrosion resistance and a long service life in demanding outdoor environments. All our hot dip galvanised products are covered by a 50 year corrosion warranty.

The wooden elements are made from linseed oil treated, FSC™ certified Swedish pine (FSC C220752), carefully selected for outdoor use and for ageing beautifully over time. To offer extended design freedom, Linnea is available in 35 different RAL colours, making it easy to adapt the expression to the character of the site – from discreet solutions to more distinctive, identity defining environments.
